Bertie County has a new 4-H Agent! Toniqua Young joins the Bertie Cooperative Extension staff today, January 8. Toniqua hales from Bertie County, grew up in the Merry Hill community, and now lives in Windsor. She is a graduate of Bertie Early College. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from East Carolina University in Family and Community Services and her Master’s Degree from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in Leadership, Policy & Advocacy in Early Childhood Education. Toniqua has worked as an Early Childhood Education Director with the Chowan /Perquimans Smart Start Partnership for Children, Bertie High School as the CTE-Early Childhood Education teacher, and most recently as a Kindergarten teacher at Princeville Elementary School. Join us in welcoming her to Bertie County!
