Our last Grands Recipe Makeover session was on August 21st. While we were sad to see it end, we were thrilled for Kathy about her retirement.
Last Grands Recipe Makeover
Once we completed the departure surveys and bid Kathy a fond retirement, we made our way to the kitchen. A few women in the group proceeded to prepare the ribs, which were already coated in homemade mustard. They then placed the ribs in the Instant Pot and set them to cook.
The second group prepared the spinach by sautéing it and adding dried cranberries and walnuts. This group was surprised at how little preparation there was.
The third group made olive oil toast to go with the meat. It was super easy and heart health! You just brush the bread with olive oil and toast it in a pan on the stovetop.
The fourth group made a delicious and healthy dessert called banana granita with blueberries. To make it, they froze banana slices and then blended them in a food processor with some honey until it became a smooth mixture.
Once the ribs were cut, we all eagerly indulged in the delicious food we had prepared. The food was met with lots of excitement and positive reactions. People were impressed by how quickly the ribs cooked and how tender they turned out. Even those who claimed to dislike spinach couldn't resist trying it out.
