Jeanette's Pier Summer Camp

Children enjoy the pier during summer camp.

We’ve officially kicked off our summer fun camps with an exciting trip to Jennette’s Pier in Nags Head! Campers dove into marine science with a hands-on squid dissection, where they explored the unique anatomy of these fascinating creatures. Our instructor shared the origins of the squid's name and guided us in identifying its key features. We even wrote our names using squid ink, located the beak, and determined the gender of the squids—an unforgettable learning experience!

After the dissection, we took a scenic walk along the pier. With the cool breeze and overcast skies, it was the perfect backdrop for snapping some great group photos. We then headed to a local Mexican restaurant for a delicious lunch and topped off our day with a sweet treat—ice cream, of course!

It was an incredible start to our summer adventures, and we can’t wait for all the fun still to come in our upcoming camps!
