If you would like to learn more about our local timber industry and pine production, plan to join us on Monday, June 5th. We will tour a local pine plantation site to hear about production practices and then visit the Enviva Mill in Ahoskie. This is the flagship of Enviva Mills, beginning production in 2011. It runs 24 hours per day and has a production capacity of 410,000 tons of pellets per year. Due to the nature of the tour, participants are required to wear long pants and work boots (sneakers are not permitted). Other PPE will be furnished at the Enviva site.

We will meet at N.C. Cooperative Extension office located at 104 Lancaster Ave, Windsor, NC 27983 at 9 am and carpool to the sites. Lunch will be on your own after we return to Windsor at approximately 1 pm.
