We would like to recognize the winners of our Yield Contest for 2023.

The winner of the 2023 Corn Yield Award was Greg E. Hughes who produced 252.7681 bushels per acre. The award was presented by Agriculture Agent Edward E. Godfrey III.

David Leggett was awarded the 2023 Cotton Yield Award for producing 1385 pounds of cotton on 188 acres. The award was presented by William Barrow Jr., the County Extension Director of Bertie County. The contest was sponsored by Roanoke-Tar Cotton Inc., Tarheel Cotton Gin, and Woodville Supply Cotton Gin.

Farless & Sons was the winner of the 2023 Peanut Yield Award. The award was accepted by Wood Farless Jr. and Elliott Farless for producing 5,825.46 lbs on 539 acres. Ashley Collins, CEO of the NC Peanut Growers Association, presented the award to them.
