Proper variety selection is a critical step in growing a profitable tobacco crop.  NC State Official Variety Testing program generates research based information on tobacco varieties each year.  Single year data gathered across multiple locations reflects a variety's adaptability to different soil and environmental characteristics.  This data is combined with data from the last 2 years to give a look at consistency.  The strength of a variety is shown with its performance over time at multiple locations.  Results from 2023  along with 2 and 3 year averages can be found here.
