On Wednesday (June 24th) afternoon, Tim Hambrick of NCSU found what he thought was BLUE MOLD  lesions in a burley tobacco patch in Forsyth County.  Some samples were sent to the Plant Pathology Clinic at NCSU for positive conformation.  Nearby fields of flue-cured tobacco were scouted with no symptoms observed, and the burley infected appears to be limited to this single field at this time.  Blue mold can be a very devistating disease to tobacco that can spread quickly, given favorable condictions.  For more Blue mold Forcast information click this link http://www.ces.ncsu.edu/depts/pp/bluemold/
