Pesticide Collection Day

White containers that contain pesticide.

Open and partially used but no longer needed containers with pesticides can be difficult to handle. They take up needed space and are a source of contamination and accidental poisoning.

North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, in cooperation with the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Bertie County Center will be offering a Pesticide Collection Day for residents in Bertie, Northampton, Martin, Hertford, and surrounding counties. The local site manager will be Billy Barrow, Agricultural Extension Agent for Bertie County. Collection will be on May 23, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Powell and Stokes located at 217 US-13 Windsor, NC.

Nearly all pesticide products will be accepted.  For liquid pesticide containers larger than 5 gal or unlabeled pesticides, please contact the Cooperative Extension Office for information before bringing them to the collection event.  No gas cylinders are accepted at the event; however, assistance information can be provided.  Contact the Cooperative Extension Office for more information.  Don't miss this opportunity in Bertie County.
