When making management decisions where do you turn for information? Hopefully you look for researched based information that comes from local sources. Places that have similar soils and climates to those of your farm. Sure information from the south or midwest is good, but they don't have the same environments as we do here in Bertie County. That is the whole intent behind the CHROME Regional Ag Expo, to take a look at problems or questions that local growers have on their farm or may be curious about. Topics that can make a difference on your bottom line.
Plan to attend the 2025 CHROME Regional Ag Expo on Wednesday August 20 at the Peanut Belt Research Station in Lewiston. This year the event will begin with a vendor fair at 3:00 pm and Field Tours staring at 4:00 pm. Dinner will follow at 6:00 pm. Topics this year will focus on using drones to make management decisions, late bloom strategies for cotton, new cotton varieties, updates on the regional corn variety trials, peanut fungicide strategies and peanut research updates.
